All Maremka Tumbler Candles, Lidded Jar Candles, Glassed Votive Candles, Wax Melts, Votives and Tea Lights come with safety warning labels but also follow these general safety rules carefully.
- Make sure the candle is placed in a non-flammable holder that will not fall or get knocked over easily.
- Keep them out of reach of children and pets.
- Always place candles and burners well away from curtains and furniture and never under a shelf.
- Glass containers may become very hot, handle with care!
- Avoid walking with a lit candle or wax melt warmer/oil burner.
- Keep candles away from hair and clothing.
- Avoid burning candles in drafts.
- Votive candles completely turn to liquid to release their fragrance, so must always be burned in a suitable glass container.
- Never leave a candle or burner unattended and always extinguish before going to bed.
- Keep the wick trimmed on candles to 1/4 inch before lighting every time to avoid high flame.
Tumbler, Lidded Jars and Glassed Votive Candles
With Lidded Jars do not replace the lid until the wax has throughly cooled.
All glassware used in Maremka products has been designed or tested to withstand candle burning temperatures.
Wax Melts
Maremka Wax Melts should always be warmed in a suitable wax melt warmer/oil burner. Do not cover or add water. Never heat on a stove or in any electrical appliance. Only use a Tea Light Candle to heat, and do not allow flame to touch the underside of the warmer/burner well. Wax Melts can be used many times before their fragrance actually starts to fade, but once the fragrance has faded then let the wax cool and solidify and it will simply slide out of the warmer/burner well. If not then place in the fridge for a short time and the wax should slide out more easily.
Tea Lights
Maremka Soy Tea Light Candles are made in polycarbonate clear cups and have been tested to withstand high temperatures but do not place them in a confined space or there is a chance that they will overheat and melt.
Votive Candles
Maremka Votive Candles when lit will completely turn to liquid wax so should always be burnt in a suitable glass container.
A suitable votive holder will not have any room between the candle and the side of the holder or this could lead to faster burn times and an excess of melted wax.
Adding Essential Oils to Maremka Candles
Only add 100% pure essential oils to melted Wax Melts or the burn pool of Candles as other so called 'scented oils' could be flammable!
A few drops of 100% pure essential oil into the burn pool of a candle is sufficient as too much oil may cause the flame to extinguish.
