"A Passion for Candles"

 CandlelightA passion for candles

A passion for candles started at a very early age with the sheer delight of watching a flickering candle flame and experiencing the pleasurable effect that candlelight offers.
I would love to watch as the melted wax dripped down the sides of the white household paraffin wax candles and formed the most beautiful lacy patterns.
I also enjoyed making my own candles out of the left over wax using all sorts of containers as moulds.
A passion indeed, which still continues to this day!

  Maremka Candles

A fragranced home

When fragranced paraffin wax candles became available some years ago I'd buy them and place them about my home, but unfortunately I found that massed produced candles smelt so nice in the shop but during burning were rather disappointing.

Maremka Candles

Maremka Candles is born

So I started to create my own fragranced candles, and being very conscious of the then, harmful effects of certain toxins in unrefined paraffin wax I made the decision to use 100% Natural EcoSoya Wax.
EcoSoya
Wax is produced from soya beans which is a renewable resource that supports sustainable agriculture, and I felt far more comfortable using and supplying a more natural based product.

Fragrance

Fragrance is important

Fragrance is also very important to me as it has the ability to encapsulate times, people and places. Smelling a particular fragrance can transport you back to a certain time in your life when you maybe visited a place or country, and experienced the heady aroma of flowers, herbs or indeed foods.
Or in the same way a certain perfume can remind you of the wearer or when you may have worn it!

                                                     "Pure" Essential Oil Candles

"Pure"and natural fragrances

This is one of the reasons why I have now introduced my own personal range of "Pure"100% Essential Oil fragranced EcoSoya Wax candles in order to try and capture some of those moments.

Presentation is visual pleasure

All Maremka candles and products are wrapped and presented in clear cellophane, tied with a gold satin bow and embellished with a golden butterfly. This simple yet elegant packaging is synonymous with my ethos of keeping Maremka products as natural as possible.

The beauty of glass

Because of the characteristics of EcoSoya Wax it is far better suited for use in containers. So, I use mainly clear glass containers for my candles in order to reflect and enhance the beautiful soft ambient glow that EcoSoya Wax gives out while burning. All glass used in Maremka products can be either reused or recycled.

      Why EcoSoya Wax?   EcoSoya Wax

  • Eco friendly - EcoSoya Wax is a 100% natural plant based product made from soya beans.
  • Burns longer - up to 50% longer burn than paraffin wax.
  • Biodegradable and Non-toxic - any spills and containers easily cleaned up with soap and warm water.
  • Superb scent throw with fragrance and essential oils.
  • Soy Wax burns cleaner with less soot and smoke than paraffin wax therefore making a healthier environment especially for children and anyone with breathing difficulties, asthma or allergies.

I use only natural lead free unbleached cotton wicks with no metal cores and only the highest quality fragrance oils and 100% essential oils. The maximum quantity of fragrance oil or essential oil that the EcoSoya Wax can hold is carefully blended into each candle to ensure long-lasting and delicious scents.

All Maremka Tumbler Candles, Lidded Jar Candles, Glassed Votive Candles, Wax Melts, Votives, Tea Lights and Vintage Teacup Candles are hand-poured and freshly made for each order, and can be either fragranced with your choice of fragrance or essential oil or left unscented, for candlelight dinners or other occasions where an unscented candle is preferable.

In keeping with the natural characteristics of EcoSoya Wax, Maremka Tumbler Candles, Lidded Jar Candles, Glassed Votive Candles, Wax Melts, Votives and Tea Lights are all left in their natural creamy colour, but some fragrance oils and essential oils may slightly tint the wax according to their colour and viscosity.
